Antonio Marras Fashion Show S/S 2016

4. ANTONIO MARRAS

I have to admit it: I’ve been in love with Antonio Marras in this Milano Fashion Week’s edition. Inspired by an exhibitionby Armenian painter and filmmaker Paradzanov seen in Paris in 2007, the designer creates a collection in which embellishment becomes a communication and symbolic tool. As visionary Marras said, you need excess to inspire emotions, to fight against the boredom of uniformity and banality.

5. THE MOSCHINO FASHION SHOW

Moschino’s designer Jeremy Scott was inspired  by a car wash for the next Spring/Summer season. The show set was set up like a construction site with signs reading “Dangerous Couture Ahead” and “Shop” alongside hazard lights and traffic cones. The first half of the show proposed every kind of construction-themed ensemble and culminated with light–up car couture consisting of ’50s dresses, an homage to Chevrolet chic. On the catwalk models as  Stella Maxwell, Bella Hadid and Kate Grigorieva.

Philippe Plein fashion show S/S 2016 with Courtney Love as performer

6. PHILIPPE PLEIN AND ROBOTS

US singer Courtney Love performed during the Philippe Plein women’s Spring-Summer 2016 collection. The show included gigantic functioning robots that were not just for show. Some played instruments, while others handed the models sunglasses and handbags as they walked the runway. It also was an actual rock concert: Courtney Love performed Hole’s “Celebrity Skin” and sounded great. On the backstage, Plein  wanted to make a statement about how “machines control your life”. “That’s why the machines are styling the models. You can’t imagine your life without technology”, he ranted.
